Blueberry Sauce Recipe



A homemade blueberry sauce recipe is easy to make way to add the flavor and health benefits of blueberries to many breakfasts and desserts. It is wonderful on pancakes, ice cream, bread pudding, oatmeal, and a host of other items. (cheesecake, angel food cake, custard....)

This recipe is intended for use within a week or so, and makes about 1 1/2 cups of blueberry sauce:

Quick Blueberry Sauce

1/4 cup sugar
1 Tbsp corn starch
2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
1/2 cup of liquid (water or juice)

1. Combine sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan, stir in the blueberries.
2. Gradually stir in liquid.
3. Place on a med-hot burner, keep stirring, and bring to a boil.
4. Boil for about 1 minute, or until sauce is thick and berries are softened
5. Serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to use. May be warmed up before use.
