Strawberry Smoothies



Strawberry smoothies may well be the most popular of fruit smoothies. Strawberries are just so sweet and delicious that they make a wonderful base for smoothies.

Strawberry-Pear Smoothie

Serves 2

1 10oz package of frozen strawberries
1 fresh Bartlett pear, pealed, cored and chopped
3/4 cup of juice, milk or milk substitute such as soy, rice, or almond milk.
2 Tbsp honey

1. Combine in a blender and blend until smooth

Banana-Strawberry Smoothies

Serves 2

1 10-oz package of frozen strawberries
1 ripe banana, coarsely sliced
3/4 cup of juice, milk or milk substitute such as soy, rice, or almond milk.
2 Tbsp honey

1. Combine in a blender and blend until smooth

Strawberry Smoothie Recipe

Serves 1

6 large strawberries
1 tsp of sugar
1/2 cup of strawberry yogurt
1 cup of milk or milk substitute such as soy, rice, or almond milk

1. Blend strawberries with yogurt and milk on low speed till smooth, then blend on high.
2. Add sugar and blend on high speed for about 1 minute.

Strawberry-Peach Smoothie

Serves 2

3/4 cup milk, soy or rice milk
1 cup peach slices, fresh or drained canned
2 fresh apricots
1 1/2 cup fresh strawberries
2 fresh bananas, sliced and frozen

1. Place milk and peaches in blender or food processor, process until just combined
2. Add apricots and continue to process
3. Finally, add strawberries and frozen banana slices. process until smooth. Add a little more liquid if required. Serve immediately.

Strawberry Pineapple Smoothie

Serves 2

1/2 cup chilled sliced strawberries
1/4 cup honey
1 cup cold strawberry, vanilla or plain yogurt
1 cup chilled pineapple
3 Tbsp sugar
1 c crushed ice

1. Place all ingredients in blender
2. Blend until smooth 3. Serve immediately

Breakfast Strawberry Smoothie

Serves 1 large or 2 small

1 cup of quartered strawberries
1 egg
1 cup of milk or milk substitute
1 tsp honey
6-8 ice cubes

1. Place all ingredients in blender
2. Blend until smooth
3. Serve immediately
